Each Chemex is hand blown from heat-resistant Pyrex glass, and - short of a drop kick or bar fight - they're indestructible!

The conical top portion of the carafe, together with the unique Chemex filters, serve to remove sediment, oils, and fats from the final cup. Designed to perfection, the narrowed neck of the carafe along with its wooden collar serves as the perfect insulated handle, secured beautifully with a leather strap.

Once the brew is finished, remove the filter and grounds in one disposable package. Then, with its moulded spout, the elegant brewer becomes a stylish carafe.

Invented by the eccentric chemist Peter Schlumbohm to improve the standard drip-filter coffee of the time, Chemex coffeemakers entered the brewing world in the late 1940s.
